Bodø/Glimt 1-0 Borussia Dortmund: Sjøvold's Second-Half Strike Stuns the Germans in the Arctic Circle
Borussia Dortmund suffered a second league-phase defeat in as many games, beaten 1-0 by Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt at the Aspmyra Stadion on Wednesday, October 14 — a result that continues Glimt's reputation as one of the Champions League's most dangerous unseeded sides.
A Tight First Half, Then the Breakthrough
Chances were scarce in the first half, with Jens Petter Hauge's volley the only real effort on target for the hosts and Dortmund struggling to create clear openings of their own. The deadlock broke seven minutes into the second half: Fredrik Berg found Sondre Auklend wide on the right, whose low cross was turned home by Sjøvold for the only goal of the game.
Another Night to Forget for Dortmund
Dortmund pushed for an equalizer, with Felix Nmecha denied late on, but couldn't find a way past a resolute Glimt defense. The result leaves Dortmund with one win and one defeat from their opening two league-phase games, while Bodø/Glimt's giant-killing run in European competition continues to grow.
